50 photos in 50 days is over but more photos will come. Check out 50 photos - 50 days and see them all on one page. Also go through the individual posts for stories and more info on the photos.

September - 11 - 2010

This is the last photo of this series to see them all look at the page 50 photos - 50 days

September 11th and a photo of a soldier's American Flag patch. This photo is of a friend and other people at Smith Park here in Rexburg. Though troops are coming home from Iraq, he and others from here are just leaving to go to Iraq. Our prayers go with them. This was a September 11th memorial, and a farewell because these soldiers will be shipped out this week.

September - 10 - 2010

This is part of a letter from a sailor on the USS California during WWII. This sailor was a secretary, and as you can see this paper has the official seal of the USA as a watermark on it.

You have got to love history.

September - 9 - 2010

There was quite a bit of rain that fell and this is the swollen gutter after it had already gone down a bit. This is in Rexburg, ID along 2nd south.

September - 8 - 2010

This is what we call a "Cookie Monster." Giant pizza-sized chocolate-chip cookie, Vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and homemade fudge sauce.

This was for a birthday and we all just started eating from an end. We noticed that it started looking like an eagle or hawk... or as we say in Spanish "águila."

Our apartment has a deck. It also has flowers on it. ( you have got to have flowers!) These were flowers that didn't make the cut to they got plucked. You wilt, you die.

September - 6 -2010

Homemade Bread! This is back in Idaho. We have had problems with our bread but we finally got it to work. I took 3 photos of the bread and that is all I took this day.

September - 5 -2010

This is in Sandy, Utah. This is one manly, handsome kid. Watch out ladies.

September - 4 -2010

I saw this wedding party and I decided to take a photo of them. It was a gorgeous day. This is in Salt Lake City, Utah.

September - 3 -2010

A Sun Shadow or a Shadow of Light.

September - 2 -2010

More yummy food! This chocolate dessert was heaven and it took two days to eat this because it was so rich. This is a timed exposure (aka slow shutter speed). the green in the background is glowing the dark pieces of a puzzle. Being home is nice.

September - 1 -2010

Mmmm.... homemade pizza!
Fter all of our travels and fast food and car snacks we wanted to make some good food.

August - 31 - 2010

After so much intense traveling I just took a photo of something in our apartment when we got back to our apartment. This is of a cloth from Africa.

August - 30 - 2010

This is also near Downey, Idaho. This is an owl that flew into a fence and died. Here is a more beautiful photo of it:

August - 29 - 2010

This is in Idaho near Downey. Just doing a photo shoot with a bunch of chickens.

August - 28 - 2010

I just went out to the family farm to help with the work. Here we were fixing a John Deere Combine. This is from Tabiona (Tabby), UT. Small town about 1 1/2 - 2 hours from where I grew up. We would go out here every weekend and I would stay out there in the summer.

August - 27 - 2010

Sky, sky, sky! This is the morning of the last leg of this trip. (aka when my brother and sister ended their part of the trip) This is in Utah near Park City.

August - 26 - 2010

I took this from the car while my brother was driving. It is not every day you get to see a fire hydrant spewing forth its guts. This is across the river from the place from the day before.

August - 25 - 2010

This was a big toad!
Here is a photo in the same town where I took the photo above:
(it is right on the Mississippi)

August - 24 - 2010

This is an LDS (Mormon) Temple.
If you are driving along the Belt Way around D.C. this temple just pops out of the trees right in front of you. It is quite breathtaking.

August - 23 - 2010

This is at probably the most famous battlefield in the United States.
Here is another photo for a different view:

August - 22 - 2010

Two photos for this day. The first one was great because these tiny people posed for me... but they didn't want their faces to be seen. :)
The second photo is of the Continental Gunboat Pennsylvania.

August - 21 - 2010

I do not think this needs explaining.

August - 20 - 2010

This was my favorite photo of this day. However unless you are totally obsessed with art and paintings in buildings you probably wont know where this is. So... here is a different photo that you might trace to where it is a little easier: (The photo above is in the same city and it has 2 statues for every state in the USA inside it)

I'm putting more photos in 50 Photos - 50 Days Go and see them all.

August -19 - 2010

The location of the battle where the words to the "Star Spangled Banner" (or "America") where written.

August - 18 - 2010

This was taken in the cellar of a poet which is now a museum to said poet. Here is the hint to his name, a quote from one of the poems:
" Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore..."

In this city "Freedom Rings" and was the first capitol.

August - 17 - 2010

This is taken in a church but since it is so hard to see where the location is here is a photo hint:

August - 16 - 2010

This is taken in an old cemetery as far as the USA is concerned. In this cemetery lay the bodies of many notable persons of the American Revolution.

Here is a photo from the same state. a hint for this hint is:
The Author who wrote Little Women lived and is buried in this town. Also Ralph Waldo Emerson said of this place "The shot heard around the world." Am I making this too easy?

August - 15 - 2010

Photos location hint: This photo is East of the last one. It is a place that has great significance to the LDS (Mormon) faith. Do you know where it is?

For those of you that are not too familiar with photography I would like to point out that you can see the things outside of the window yet you can still see the things that are inside the building. This was also taken without a flash. Try and do that with your camera!

For you people that know photography I want you to know that this photo is not edited. Is it HDR? yes but it is built into my camera. To my knowledge only Sony has a camera that does that. If it is not please let me know. (Cannon and Nikon are not the only brands out there)

August - 14 - 2010

Ok with this day I had to put two on because they are in two different states. (hint in the US)
The first is from a historical place just off of I-90 East of Cleavland, OH.
The Second is a place that should be easy to guess.

August - 13 - 2010

This is from the start of the large part of the trip. This is somewhere nearing the Great Mississippi River. Now we are heading East.

August - 12 - 2010

Trains once passed here... this is now heading South-East from the last place.

August - 11 - 2010

This is in the North-West of the USA near a college town which is near the border of the state and close to another university that is in the neighboring state. Can you guess where?

Aug - 10 - 2010

The art of art... This is in Northern Idaho.

Aug - 9 - 2010

Water under the bridge. We get to the traveling starting now!

Aug - 8 - 2010

Baking for the trip... Mmmm!

August - 7 - 2010

I messed with the white balance a little bit to get the increase in blues in these photos.... nothing says cool water like the color blue.
